The Lighter Side / Warwick Castle

Does anyone know if there was something put out in a newspaper in the 70s in regards to a search for the next people in line to inherit Warwick castle? I know was eventually sold on to the Tussauds group in 1978 but does anyone know of anything before that?

Any information would be much appreciated.

My 5th Great Grandfather showed up as being born in either South Africa or East Indies. Eventually, he moved to the UK (Bilston) and married Rhoda Alcock in 1817. I can't seem to get any further back than him. Does anyone have any more information? would be much appreciated.

A census record from 1851 shows he was an excavator and had 10 employees.

Hi,

Sarah Bullock is my 4th Great grandmother. It shows (on ancestry) that her father was John Bullock and her mother was Ann Pond. I'm related through her daughter Emma Rainsford who married Alfred James Haynes.

Hi,

I was searching Devine and found this chat.

My 2nd Great grandmother's name was Selina Devine 1873 (born in Tamworth) her father was William John Devine (born in Nottinghamshire) and his father was Thomas Devine (born in Kildare).

I know it's not the same area but I thought I would post this anyway because you never know.

Hi Ken,

The dates showing on ancestry are:

George Peter Haynes 1838 - 1871
Peter Haines 1794 - 1861
Elizabeth Hobbins 1804 - 1868

These dates could be completely wrong.

Also Peters parents are showing up as John Hanies and Mary Cockbill

Hi  :)

Peter Haines and Elizabeth Hobbins are showing up as my 4th Great grandparents and their son George Peter Haynes is my 3rd Great grandfather and it looks as if he was possibly a saddle maker. Does anyone know how many siblings George had? and what their names were? or does anyone have more information on Peter and Elizabeth Haines?
