Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Aston, Birmingham - Thierry

Interesting link ShaunJ! It echoes what was coming up in my searches that the name was changed to Louis (sometimes Lewis) César Augustus TAYLOR. One document, a marriage to Emma Thomas Middleton gives his father as Thierry Taylor.

Hello, are you also from a descendant line? From memory I think Edward has also been used as a christian name.

Hello Amy,

I'm wondering if you found any further information on Louis Caesar Augustus Thierry?

Kind regards,
Kirst

I am also trying to read a headstone at Lochend Cemetery - the headstone of Maria Baillie who died 1835 also has a name underneath, surname Grant it seems. Is anyone able to read the inscription please?

Thank you

Thank you. I only saw the postage option, I didn't see the download option - I'll look again.

Dunbartonshire / 1891 Census Record
« on: Sunday 19 November 23 03:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, I am trying to find a way to view the original Census record 1891 Kirkintilloch, and 1901 Haggs, Stirlingshire. I'm helping my Uncle who unfortunately doesn't have the time to wait for a posted record from Scotlands People. And unfortunately don't have any paid subscriptions so wondering if there's another option online. If there is I'd be most grateful to know.
Thank you kindly, Kirst

Hi

Thanks for your reply. My Hugh McDonald died Nantwich, Cheshire a month before 1841 Census. That's the dilemma I have had for years - no idea where he was born.  He did have a son Hugh who did show up on the 1841 Census in Nantwich.  Is this the Hugh you found in 1841?

Many thanks for looking into this.

regards
Penny

Hi Penny,

From memory it was in Inverness not Nantwich. This was a Hugh, son of Andrew aged 10. So sorry might not be of any help.

Regards, Kirst
