Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Kingston(e) baptism in Whittlebury 1764ish
« on: Tuesday 29 April 08 12:17 BST (UK)  »
If anyone has access to the Whittlebury parish
registers - please could they take a look for me
around 1762 - 1769 - for a baptism of a MARY KINGSTON(E)
and / or a JANE KINGSTON(E).

I'm not sure of the exact date but Mary's husband was
baptised 1764 and children were born 1787-1809
so I'm guessing she would have been somewhere
between 18 and 25 in 1787 and 40 and 47 in 1809.

Also I'm not sure of the parish but I am expecting her
to have been born in Silverstone and I think that comes
under Whittlebury parish at that time.

Many Thanks,
T

The Common Room / Re: Cause of death - floating kidney (1912)??
« on: Tuesday 25 March 08 14:19 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for your replies,

I had wondered if it was a misdiagnosis/missed diagnosis but it sounds like it could well be correct.

She was only 40, already a widow, and left young children.

Thanks for your help...

Thanks for the link, Stan.

I still don't understand why it would be a cause of death though,
non of the links make it sound fatal?

The Common Room / Cause of death - floating kidney (1912)??
« on: Tuesday 25 March 08 12:27 GMT (UK)  »
A question for someone with a medical background...

I have a female ancestor who's death cert gives "floating kidney"
as a cause of death.

As far as I can establish - from links like this http://www.henriettesherbal.com/eclectic/thomas/kidney-mov.html
- it is unlikely to be fatal (even if it exists as a condition) - so what
could she have died of.

Is it possible she was diabetic?
(following 3 generations had type 1 diab. so I wonder where it came from)

Thanks

I am looking for the reference  (piece, folio, page) numbers
of Duck Yard / Duck Lane  in St.John the Evangelist, Westminster in the 1851 census. Would be very grateful if there is anyone with access to a street index  or a census
CD you can search on addresses could tell me.

Thanks!

Armed Forces / Re: Lookup offer for crimea and indian mutiny
« on: Tuesday 02 May 06 15:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
If you have time, please could you look in the casualty rolls for India for:
Martin CHESTER
John CHESTER
Jesse CHESTER
they were born in Newport Pagnell and Martin CHESTER
is sometimes listed as Richard CHESTER.

There is a John and a Martin CHESTER in the 84th regiment
of foot on the online Indian Mutiny medal roll - these may be the right people - but I'ld be interested if there were any
other by the same names.
Many thanks,
T
