I do not go back that far yet but I have a death certificate that has my Alexander Scott passing away in Jan 1866, age 36, parents both dead, Alexander Scott the father coal miner and Mary (nee Faulds) the mother.  Found drowned near Temple in the parish of New Kilpatrick.

I curious if the Alexander Scott listed as the father of my Alexander could be part of your family group listed.

Several related families of my Cairns and Flanagan ancestors migrated from Ireland and occupied the miners' row in Blairdardie Colliery in the mid-late 19th century. The colliery didn't last very long and is not well documented, even in the Scottish Mining website. Does anyone have info on the colliery, and/or photos?

I have some Scott and Lang ancestry that works those mines.  Try looking up a William Lang mid 1800s for his writings on the area.

Attached is My Alexander Scott's Death Cert from the Scottish National Records.  Pretty sure this is my Alexander because of the location, the brother in law cited here matches and my mother's story about him walking off the end of a pier.  Mom thought he put Elizabeth Lang on a boat for America and he walked away but this proves that story wrong.  I am aware of the parents listed here but I have not found any other records to back it up.

Will contact the moderator about splitting this into a different thread.  Was hoping I found some one who had connections to my Thomas and Alexander Scott since both are in my tree.  Thanks for your help.
