Povey researchers may have come across an item about the White Hart, Hungerford on http://www.hungerfordvirtualmuseum.co.uk/ which looks as though 'my' Elizabeth Povey became the landlady on the death of her husband Daniel Heath.
Elizabeth Povey was the sister of John Povey 1724 to 1773 married to Mary Painter, my wife's Povey line goes back to him. His father I think was a John married to Elizabeth Bennett although now hear that maybe John's dad was Michael, married to E Bennett. Anyone able to add to this tree branch?

Ah ha, this one maybe …..
Marriage in Bedworth 1780 for Edward DEWIS, widower, and Elizabeth ACRES, both of Bedworth parish.
It appears that his first marriage was to Sarah Hartop on 15.11.1762.
I thank you for your help.

The three marriages are on freereg.

Mary CADE Timothy DEWIS   Marriage   11 Dec 1810   Warwickshire   Bedworth : All Saints :

Patience HAYWOOD Timothy DEWIS Marriage 11 Aug 1825 Warwickshire Bedworth : All Saints :

Catherine MALLABONE Timothy DEWIS   Marriage   25 Apr 1827   Warwickshire   Bedworth : All Saints : Unspecified

This is how the 1825 marriage appears on Ancestry.

Timothy Davis       7 Aug 1825   Bedworth   Ratience

Colin if the signature of Timothy on banns for Cade and Mallabone are correct, then I guess we can discount Patience . The registry office has Tim's death cert but alas no birth record  have tried the local history society and the church community facebook group but nothing going back further than Tim. A contact suggested his dad was Edward Dewis, but mostly because he was only person that fitted with dates. Shame.
I know Samuel Dewis my Gt Gt grandad left Bedworth for Oxenhope in Yorkshire where he worked as a weaver at the mill. He was also a congregational minister as was Reginald Samuel Dewis, my Grandpa.

Thank you .Mary Cade showed up in other searches so that now makes more sense than Patience. Shame I can't find Timothy mum and dad but we think it might have been Edward.?.
They were hugeunot by descent and I believe the silk ribbon weavers came mostly from Normandy?
