Thanks DCB.  Blaen Nant was in the family for several generations.  I will look into the baptism record you have suggested.

To the best of my knowledge Jane didn't have any 'full' siblings.

The 1881 - Tyddyn Wilim, LLanrhychwyn doesn't seem to fit (although I looked at it before because in 1871 a servant girl called Catherine Jones was living with the family and she and Richard were a similar age.) because in 1891 Jane is still living with the family at Tyddyn Willim.

Or;
JANE Williams bapt 07 Jan 1877, St Gwynhoydl, Llangwnnadl
Parents RICHARD/ANN
Father a Farmer and Smith
Abode Glanrafon

When did Richard/Ann marry.
I can see a 13 Aug 1866 with Richards Father a William.

Or am I looking at the wrong person :)

This is the 1881 for the family I found;
Richard Williams 44 Smithy (Black)
Ann Williams   31
William Williams   13
Ann Williams   9
David Williams   7
JANE Williams   4
Evan Williams
Catherine Williams 46
John Parry   20
Laura Roberts   42
John Roberts   12

Hi Trish, thank you the suggestions but it is the wrong family.

Richard Williams married Anne Roberts on the 06/01/1879 in Llanwrst.  They had 6 boys together.

William Williams
Robert Henry Williams
Arthur Williams
Richard Lloyd Williams
Jesse Williams

The family lived at Blaen Nant Farm. Richard was still single in 1871 so a first marriage (if it exists) would be between 1871 and 1876 when Jane was born.

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / Birth record for Jane Williams, llanrhychwyn
« on: Saturday 16 April 22 18:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

My great-grandmother, Jane Williams was born in Llanrychwyn (2 census returns list it as Llanbeblig or Capel Curig).

According to my mother she was the child of Richard Williams (1849-1919) and his first wife but I can find no record of Richard being married prior to his marriage to Anne Roberts.

Possibly Jane was illegitimate. There is no record of her living with her father until 1891 when she was 15.  Prior to this, the only plausible record is for a Jane Williams living with her Aunt Elin in Llanberis in 1881.

I am looking for her birth record or possibly a 1st marriage record for Richard that could give Jane's mother's name.

Any help gratefully received as I have hit a brick wall.

Hi Miggins, how did you get on with your research into the Dawsons?  My GG grandfather was Thomas Dawson who lived at Chambers Row.  His son Frank is my G grandfather.
