OK, this is a real shot in the dark, because I have no details, but hey, you have to try these things if you want to move forward.

about the turn of the 20C, a member of the Knightley family married a German lady and moved to germany. Thats the last we know of him and his wife.

So yes you've guessed it, I am looking for his descendants. there cant be many Knightleys in Germany... if they survived two world wars.

Anybody out there know anything????
Thanks in advance,
John Edwards.

Looking for the following Coates people.
Frances Coates, who married Edward James Knightley at St Marys, Lambeth, Surrey on 19/01/1873. I think her father was John Coates who died on March 15th, 1897. He was interred at Bath Cemetery. I would like to find out more about Frances family who it is believed, came from Lewes, Sussex.
I would also like to find out about her father in law, James Agleston Knightley.
Like John Coates, he too was deceased at the time of the marriage.

Frances has a son, Alfred Knightley, whose descendants now live in Canada.

Thanks for that.
We have found the our Edwards line goes back through to Exmouth in Devon, back to Denby in North Wales. Thats not too far away from Shropshire if I recall my geography correctly. We have also found out that the surname changed from Edward Hughes downwards, where the children take on the  first name or part of it for their surname. Apparently a common thing to have occur.

One of the best things about researching the family tree is that you find cousins, and this summer I will get to meet at least three of them. 2 from Oz and 1 from the USA, along with their respective families. Who said anything about giving up?
Cheers,
John

Fred Edwards  (1891)lived in Willow Road, West Ealing after he left the Navy.
his mother was Mary Ann Edwards  (1869)nee Garwood. Father was Frank Edwards. (1871) the family lived in Ealing in the early part of the 20th century. Fred worked on the London trams at one time. The family used to live in New Rd, Withycombe, Exmouth, Devon.

Fred had the following siblings.
Hilda Beatrice Edwards (1896)
Mabel Annie Edwards (1898)
Albert Edwards (1891)
Bessie Selina Edwards (1894)

I am trying to find out information about Fred's siblings. I do know that Bessie married a soldier. thats about it.
However, it is believed that one of the other girl's married prior to moving out to Australia in the 1950's??? to work at Woomara. (shhh secret stuff)

Any information and / or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looking for information on the following family.
Father, Edward James Knightley, born, 1874, married Frances Coates, born possibly 1876. Edward and Frances married in 1873 in St Marys church, Lambeth, Surrey. They had a son, Alfred James Knightley, who eventually emigrated to Canada.

I can only guess that Frances died because Edward remarried/lived together with Maria Weale, born 1832 in Hastings. What happened to Frances?

Edwards' father was James AGLESTON Knightley. I CANNOT FIND ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT THIS GUY. This is the main man I want to find out about if possible.
Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks.
