Hi Franyon.

Am I right to remember you are from Rugby?

Nice to hear from you again. Cant seem to find a private message though, so I apologies.

Happy to help with any local research with this is anyone has any leads.

Unfortunately, my main source being my grandmother, is now limited due to age related health problems and memory. But I still have other ways of finding info or facts. This includes access to Bethel Chapel. I have seen Jonathan's grave myself, which was a great find a few years ago.

Hi all.

Brilliant to read through your research on the Holyhead Burnell's.

I to have been researching my Burnell family history. My grandmother is Gwyneth Burnall (Owen) - as you can see, the spelling had changed once again. But that we believe was from a mistake during registration of birth of her father Robert Ellis Burnall, born 1902.
I have always been led to believe that all Burnells of Holyhead currently, are all related, though not directly. My grandmother is 2nd cousins to Richard - referred to here as the maritime museum guy. My grandmother has always told us that she is also related to John, the estate agent. But this Im not sure how.

Basically, I also have jonathan and Abigal in my tree

Hi,

Still a little baffled by Annie a few months on.

I have found an Annie Roberts (b.1907) on the General Register Office site. Mothers maiden name was Moxen Vol:11b Page 455 Born West Anglesey. All fits with the new possible fact of Mothers Maiden name. And there wasnt another Annie born in Anglesey that I can see in 1907.

But for some reason, theres still no sign of her on any Census, only the birth register which also matches the Vol and Page.

Ive also looked at other people born between 1899 and 1910 to a mothers maiden name of Moxen in Anglesey and found the following:

Owen Roberts b.1903 Vol 11b Page 502
Richard Roberts b.1903 Vol 11b Page 502
Robert Roberts b 1902 Vol 11b Page 508
William Roberts b. 1899 Vol 11b Page 471
Mary Roberts b. 1900 Vol 11b Page 510

All to a Catherine Roberts (Nee Moxen) of Amlwch, Anglesey, and a Robert Roberts of Heneglwys, Bodffordd, Anglesey.

According to the Marriage cert we have for Annie, her father was a Robert Roberts, last known address to be Ty Weryl, Rhoscolyn. I have bought the Census for Ty Weryl in 1921 and they are not there. We know he died before she was married in 1930. So by the 1921 census, he could have already died or hadnt lived there yet at that point.

We have found an Annie in the 1911 Census in Llanfihangel TB as a grand daughter to a Hugh and Ellen Roberts. Could this be her? If so, why is she not with her parents and the rest of the family in the census?

Looking at other peoples trees on various websites, all the children seem to be there and correct to Catherine and Robert Roberts, but none have Annie as a child.

Very confused how a person can just fall off the face of the earth haha!

If anyone can shed a little light further to what work already has been done from previous posts, it would be very welcomed. We are stuck!

Hi Tall Al,  I've since looked into this family, and seen that Annie in this family dies before the date we have on her Death Cert 1946. So back to square one with this one  ::)

Thank you for your help

Where have you looked for her birth record?

Have you looked for them both on the 1911 census when Annie is a child?

Who were the witnesses to the marriage please?  That might give a clue.

Hi, I have exhausted everything on Ancestry co.uk and can't seem to find either of them anywhere.
On the marraige cert is has his name on it "Robert Roberts (deceased)". The family know he had passed by the time she was married in 1930. But that is literally all they know.
He is also down as havinv lived in Ty Weryl, Rhoscolyn as last address (according to the marriage cert.
The witnesses ain't as straight forward either. You have a 'William O Jones' and a name I cant make out. The surname is Roberts. Looks like Eirwen of something. I've tried so many different names and locations with the witnesses. But yet again, nothing.
Annie was later found on death cert to have died in Treaddur Bay in 1946.
We really are at a loss end with both Robert and Annie.
Have also searched the 1921 census and paid for some documents. None match up though still.

Hi DragonT,

That is them 😁 thank you so much.
Still a little confused with why there is no sign of her birth records or her father. She's 23 before we see anything of her on record.
