Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Mr & Mrs George Naden
« on: Saturday 22 January 22 18:36 GMT (UK)  »
Dear recorder. How kind of you to contact me. I think I may have read that Howard was your grandfather. My connection is via my great Auntie Peg (born Margaret Ennis) who is my grandmothers sister.  Peggy, Brenda and Gordon were my mums cousins. Once reunited in 1946 the women became very close. Holidaying together home and abroad.

As small children my brother and I spent many happy times visiting the Nadens in Edwards Road. My widowed mother and Brenda stayed in touch until relatively recently and we attended Brenda’s funeral.  Gordon had a wife and twin daughters.  Are you from Howard’s Liverpool family or Birmingham?  Kind regards.

Hi Jeannie.
I am related to this Naden family.
They are : parents Howard Naden born Birmingham 1879 & Margaret Ennis (known as Peg) born Liverpool.
Children are Margaret (known as Peggy), Brenda Gladys (known as Brenda) and John Howard Gordon Naden (known as Gordon).  All now deceased.  They Lived in Erdington, Birmingham from 1920 onwards.

I have more information if you are still interested.
Interestingly, family gossip says Peggy told people they were going to America. That was in 1920.
But they turned up in Erdington same year.
But they may still have gone to America of course.

Howard’s family moved from Aston to Liverpool circa 1882. He then moved back to Birmingham to start a new family in 1920 and died in 1944.
