Audrey a chara
Thanks for the reply, I will check out the link.

Our Malaney's is definitely from Belfast at least 4 generations. It's my mothers mothers line, which to be honest I have only started to look at. The last of my Grandmothers siblings died a few months back and we had planned to go through it this summer once my degree was finished.

Maloney is another variant for Malaney.

I think I will need to do more work on this line before I can realistically post to get some info.

Thanks again Aingeal

Hi Tati
Thank you for this, I am thinking that maybe Elizabeth and Cathrine have been mixed up at some point. Elizabeth is the wife and Catherine the daughter not the other way round.

Thanks Aingeal

Hi Sue
Thank you for your speedy responce it is most appricated.

My Grandfather was very insistant that his mother was Catherine, but in the info you provided you have a daughter as Elizabeth, Could it be possible that the names were transcribed the wrong way about?

The rest of the names and ages match apart from Eleanor I have never came across her before, perhaps she died(?) The address in 1891 would also be right as I have nother child born 1891 in London, Charles.

I had Eliza but not the children or the address.
Thank you very much for this information. you have given me a few more links to follow.

Hi All I'm new to this board, I'm currently looking up my family tree but I am coming to a dead end all roads.
I am interested in finding decendants/ ancestors of John Mcgrath, Born in Ireland in 1862. I have no idea when he moved to England but I do know he married Elizabeth Buckenham born 1863 in Norfolk. Their address in 1901  20 Lees Yard Nottinghamshire. They seemed to have moved around  a bit  as they their children seem to be born in different counties.

Catherine  -  1885 - ??

Thomas - 1888 - Nottingham

Charles  - 1891 - London

Arthur - 1896 - Nottingham

William  - 1899 - Nottingham

Catherine McGrath was my G Grandmother, all I know about her was that she was a fortune teller at the Goosefair. She married Walter Rolfe Sr born 1882 Nottingham. The info I have on him is that in 1901 he was a Lace Hand, and lived at 124 Radford Rd Nottingham. Died Before 1948. (1917 WW1 PTE,353rd(H&S)Labour Company??)

They had a number of childern 1 of which was my Grandfather Walter Rolfe jr born 1912. I believe that he was once married before my grandmother. His first marriage was in Nottingham and some of his children still live there.

There is also a Norfolk Link, Walter Rolfe Sr's father was Alfred Rolfe born 1847 in Stoke Ferry Norfolk. In 1881 Alfred was living at 25 Pelican St Radford. In 1901  he was a Tailor who worked from home. His Address was 142 Radford Rd Nottingham and he was Widowed.

Alfred's father was John Rolfe born 1805 in Fincham Norfolk and his mother Mary ? born 1809. There address in 1861 was 22 Lime Kiln Cottage Swaffham. John was a Lime Burner.

This is as far as I can get, I have had this for a while. If anyone thinks they might have any info on any of the people here I would be very greatful to here from you.

Thank you for your time.
