Hi - did you ever get any further information on this? I may be able to help. My dad was evacuated to Alston with his mum after the war started. His three aunts were Molly, Ethel and Belle and they were already in Alston. Molly owned the house called Newholme which unfortunately is no longer there. I will try and attach a photo he has labelled up in case you recognise it? He has so many stories of living in Alston which I'd be happy to share if you think this may be the same house/Ethel.
