Aberdeenshire / WATT FORBES VALENTINE LAWS Udny Foveran Culsalmond

Hi

The set of names - WATT FORBES VALENTINE and LAWS - represent three generations of my family from the mid-19th century to the late 18th century.

Have you been up this trail already?

I'm hoping to go to Aberdeen quite soon, where I will try to visit, Udny Green, Culsalmond and Foveran and seek out some more information.

Let me know if you have an interest in these families

Best regards

Lanarkshire / VESEY-HOWISON Carnwath

HI
Archibald Vesey and Janet Howison
were married on 17.10.1831 at St Cuthbert's Edinburgh
and subsequently  on 21.10.1831 at Carnwath, which is just over 25 miles south-west of Edinburgh.
I could not see any details of either's parents on the records I saw.

Do you have any record of either of these people?

I have found reference to Thomas Prentice and Helen Howison and their son Archibald in Carnwath in 1802 - are these people relatives to Janet? Could Helen be an aunt or an older sister to Janet?

And what of Archibald Vesey? He and Janet moved to Partick, where their son Alexander (b. 1842) married an Englishwoman called Caroline Street.
Was there other offspring?
