Hi Elisabeth,

thanks for replying. I am sure that between us we can get through quite a bit.  I did try to get a copy of John and Mary's marriage certificate from Wilshire but have not had a reply.  If you do manage to get a copy can you let me also have a copy.  If you need anymore info please do let me know.

I have a picture of the Manor House at Doynton which I took about 2 years ago.  I also have quite a lot of history about the family if your interested.

Kind regards

Hi blotcopy

I am actually a descendant of John Amer Lord of the Manor in Doynton.  He married Mary Hillman in 1776 and his son Stephen Amer born 1781 is my sixth GG Grandfather so John is my seventh GG Grandfather.

I can give you quite a bit of info from thereon but I am interested as up until about 18 months ago we did not know about Elizabeth as she is the daugter of John and Mary Amer.

Would love to hear from you.

Kind regards

hi jane

I will dig out some information for you and see if she is a descendant of yours.

I can tell you that they did marry in London and all their children were born in London.

Elizabeth married Stephen Amer in about 1805/1806 in London.  I think I do have a copy of their marriage certificate so I will try over the weekend and email it to you.  Can you let me have your email address.

Regards

Hi,

I am related to Stephen Amer who married Elizabeth Ann Rowe in about the early 1800s.  Are you possibly related to this Rowe.  If so I would be interested to find out if she is related to you.

They had one daughter and 3 Sons, that were mentioned in his Will, but they did have more children but I think died early.  Stephen, William and Joseph, their daughter was called Anne.  All born between early 1800's to 1816.  I can give you more info when I get on my computer later, but would love to hear from you.

Regards

Hi Bob

I wonder if you can help me.

According to my gg gandmother Euphemia Rae Stephenson, she is supposed to be the great niece of George Stephenson.

I have managed to trace her back to her father who was Cunningham Stephenson born around 1818 in Kirkcudbright.  Cunningham married a Jane Robertson or Robson (we are not sure which) and his parents are supposedly John Stephenson and Euphemia Rae.  My mother and I can only assume that the connection (if there is one) would be John Stephenson.  I can only find a marriage for John not a birth or death in Scotland.

Can you shed any more light on this.  My gg grandmother did have the family bible so we can only assume that George is mentioned in this bible.

We have become rather stuck but any help you can give me or any information about your ancestors would be appreciated.

regards

I am trying to contact living descendants of John Amer born 1779 in Wiltshire.

John married Mary Hillman in 1776 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.  They apparently moved to London but had property known as The Manor, Doynton.

I would very much like to hear from anyone who is related to John and Mary as it would help with the research of my family tree.

I know that a number of the Amers had properties in London, Birkenhead and also Gloucester.  Any assistance anyone can give would be much appreciated.

Hi,

wonder if anyone can help me.  I am descended through my gg grandmother Euphemia Rae Stevenson born 1851 in Kirkcudbright.  She moved to England and married my gg grandfather Stephen William Amer in about 1878.

I am trying to trace Euphemia's family.  Her parents were Cunningham Stevenson born 1818 and Jane Robertson born 1818.  They marred in 1941 in Kirkcudbright.

Cunningham's parents I believe were John Stevenson and Euphemia Rae.  They married on 22 December 1815 in Kirkcudbright.

I would like to hear from anyone that is descended through John and Euphemia's children.  If anyone has information on them, I would very much like to make contact with them.

regards
