Thanks Pete.

I can ask that question of our local council and see if they know what happened to them.

They have the records of the relocation and may have some answers.

There is a single gravestone at the 11 burials on Thorpe Road , but it has deteriorated so much, that it is unreadable.

One step forward and two back! :(

Final update here.

I have now traced the final location ( burial ) of Jane Ainge d.1884.

She was originally buried in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel graveyard on Sage Cross street.

This church was demolished some time after and the land sold to a well known supermarket chain.

The graves were exhumed and interned again in the Thorpe Road cemetery in 1987 in a grave with 11 soles.

Jane is one of them.

Still no signs of Alban though ( Jane's husband d.1911).

Just an update on the records that Jomot / David provided.

I visited the Leicestershire Records Office yesterday and found the burial details of a possible relative.

The record was found in Volume DE3058/78 as Jomot suggested.

Unfortunately, the name was only listed as AINGE with no christian name.

The date and location are exact though and show a burial at that church in May of 1884.

No further records found for AINGE though :(
The search continues .... :)

Many thanks for that David.
I was not aware that this burial ground even existed!

Given that the map states its existence in 1885 and one of my ancestors dies in 1884, there may be a chance of finding more.

If this burial ground was still in use after 1911, then I may find the other ancestor too!

Now that is interesting Jomot, as it mentions an actual burial ground for the Wesleyan church!

This is new to me and the dates are overlapping with the King street ( 1847 - 1890) and Thorpe road cemeteries ( 1890 to present) active lives.

You have found a possible route to success here!

The record details can be traced as you suggest in the Leicestershire Records Office.

I have contacts there and will follow this up and feedback my findings!

Many thanks Jomot I really appreciate it.

Many thanks for all of the replies.

Jomot - I have the same information about Jane , but cannot trace the actual burial place and plot.
The Wesleyan Methodist Church has no actual grave yard and was demolished many years ago.I am trying to find someone in he church who could search the church records but so far not luck.

Brentnor Boy - This is an earlier relative and not the one I am looking for so you are spot on.The name Alabna Ainge is very common in my family.

Bumble - Yes I have all of this information , but I am looking for where they are actually buried if possible.

I am hoping that someone can give me a steer for finding the burial locations for them both.

Regards
