Hello

Just seen your post and amongst your names is William married Caroline Margaret Clowes.
They are my Great Grand parents, lived in Chester, William Musson was a canal boatman worked for the Shropshire Union Canel Company, they are both buried in Chester.
I recall my Father John William Musson spoke of an Aunt Emma who lived in Massachusetts,
I believe she made a visit to England possibly in the 1960 and stayed with family in Wolverhampton.

The Musson family feature often in the Wolverhampton area, all worked mainly on the canals. My Grand Father John William Musson Snr was the last to work the canals, his final job being top lock keeper where the Manchester Ship Canal met the Shropshire union, he died in 1943.

I would be interested to learn of any information on Emma as she could be my Great Aunt.

Kindest regards

John Musson

Hi Margaret

My name is John Musson I joined RootsChat today 18 July and saw your post re Thomas Musson and Sophia Skinner. You are correct they were canal boat people, their ancestors worked the canals into the 20th century, my Grandfather John William Musson being the last, he was top lock keeper on the Shropshire Union Canal where it meets the River Mersey at Ellesmere Port.

Thomas and Sophia Musson were my Great Great Great Grandparents, they had a son William Musson who married Martha Boaz, William died on his boat in 1899 and is buried at Ellesmere Port.

I have gathered considerable data on my ancestors, if I can be of assistance please let me know.

Kindest regards

John
