Cheers mshrmh,

I like the sites they certainly set the scene with a good scematic of the New Cross Union.

I have corresponded with Wolverhampton archives and unfortunately they only have corporate records and the records of inmates are either lost or stolen.

Thanks for your advise

Hi,

Unfortunately my surname is Smith, not that I'm unhappy with the name it's this bloomin searching mullarky gets difficult. Anyway I live in the North West and great news after 6 years of searching I've located my Grandfather Joseph William from Grove Street Heath Town born 1859.

Now for another six years, his Father also Joseph disapeared between 61 and 71 censuses. Apparently there was a Joseph died in the Heath Town workhouse in 65.

Can anyone give me a steer regarding records or any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Colin

Hi Christopher,
thanks for replying
the person i am looking for is Richard Michael /Michael Richard Cummins/Commons/Cummings
born approx 1857 married in warrington 1886 to Margaret Mcmanus
Unfortunately we have been unable to confirm the area of ireland he was born in but was led to Ballymacward when looking through the national archives and found a record for a soldier of that name serving in the 31st foot regiment.
As Michael had a son Michael who died in Anzio in 1944 we thought it may be connected if very tenuously
We know it is a long shot but thought it was worth a go.
thanks
Maureen

Hi Gadget,

Interesting my ancestors are Wilson from Crossmichael and Houston from Borgue (back to circa 1720).

We're a bit stuck on Maxwell line GGG Grandmother (Lucy) living in Buittle at the time of my GG Granfather Francis Wilson birth in 1810. There seems no trace of her or husband James pre this date, just need to search more parishes I think!

I'll have a look at your site....

Cheers

Colin
