« on: Sunday 13 May 07 19:14 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the marriage/marriages of James Hooton, gardener in the Duckinfield/Ashton-under_Lyne area.
There may be two marriages.
First to Alice c1825 & then c1830 to Ann.

Thanks, Tony Lambe

I am looking for a marriage of Hannah Proctor/Procter probably @ St. Peters, Congleton but certainly in the Macclesfield area. It would be after 18th August 1833 as her illegitimate son, Levi, was baptised on that date @ St. Peters.

Thanks,
Tony Procter-Lambe

Peter, That does seem to be the right Shaw's.
My cousin has now found them in the 1851 & 1861 census's & it all seems to fit & to make them our Shaws. Which is great as Shaw is a common name.

Thank you so much. We are still hunting for the elusive Nathaniel Procter but the Shaws are a link & so are the Plant family so we are progressing & you have been very helpful.

Regards, Tony Procter-Lambe

Peter, Thanks for looking for Charles Shaw's marriage.
I don't know his wife's name, he lived in Macclesfield & was a weaver.

His daughter was Mary Ann Shaw born c1834 & married 1853 @ Prestbury Parish Church to Levi Proctor. One of her witnesses was a William Shaw.

I hope this helps,
Thanks

Peter, Thank you so much for the info on Prestbury/Astbury etc. & Cheshire CDs.

Could you please look for a marriage of a Charles Shaw, in about 1830, in the Macclesfield area, most probably in Prestbury Parish Church.

Thank you, Tony

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Wolstanton Parish Registers - Procter/Proctor

Marie, Thank you so much. This is very helpful & is very likely a lead.

The Nathaniel Procter I need to find would have been born c.1815 as he had a son, Levi Procter, born c1832 in Buglawton, Cheshire.

This Nathaniel is possibly a family member of my Nathaniel, possibly a nephew (ie this Nathaniel's father Samuel & my Nathaniel could be brothers)

Thank you again, I feel I am one step closer to finding my Nathaniel.

Tony

Peter, Thank you so much for checking on my Nathaniel Procter.

If my Procter's lived in Buglwaton would their parish church be Prestbury?

Would this also be the case if they lived in Congleton?

Are there a lot of Procter/Proctor/Procktor marriages in the Buglawton/Congleton area in the 1825-1837 period?

Could you recommend the best directory for us to get that would help our research?

We really feel we are getting close to discovering our Nathaniel Procter...he may have used Levi or another forename & the other possibility is that he moved from Wolstanton area c1830.

Thank you , Tony
