If only they knew that a few generations later their ancestors would be looking for them.  It makes you think doesn't it.  I have decided to give up on her now, I have wasted too much time already, I now have to find out when she died ::)

Thank you Rambler.  Beleive me I have tried putting everything in I could think of.  But nothing.  It is very strange, I am wondering if this happened a lot, it's never happened to me with anyone else.  It is very frustrating >:(  I have looked for her before but thought I would have one last try before I give up, thought someone may have had an idea, never mind, I give up :(

Thank you again

I was wondering if she might be in hospital having another baby, she had 8 that I know of.  Does anyone know how I find patients in a hospital?

Dear All

My GGrandma seems to have gone missing in 1901 census.  Sarah Jane Hupton was alive in 1903 because she had my Grandad then, but she is not at home.  I have looked high & low for her, has anyone any ideas?  She lived in Tyldesley, Lancs but came from Staffs ???

No don't think so, but then again I have only just started the Mayer family.  I am actually looking for how I am related to the Mayer's, because as yet I do not know which side of the family they belong to.  Info sent to me from Liverpool museum says they were a 'radical and non-conformist family' which sounds great to me. Joseph Mayer is famous for starting that museum and there is a statue to him in St Georges Hall.

Thank you for that Peter, thats very interesting.  It's interesting about the vets in Pepper St as Samuel's wife was named Mary Pepper before marriage.  I am at work now so I will look at the website this weekend.  Thank you for the info again.  I hope to speak soon.

Thank you Peter.  I am looking for any history of NUL around 1830's, in particular the Mayer family, one of which, I beleive, was the mayor of the town around that time.

Thank you Mack for that.  I think I will need to do more research.  My grandad was a very modest quiet man and if he won a medal he would not have said, although I am sure my mum would have and I don't recall anyone in the family mentioning it.  He wasn't in the TA I'm sure of that.  I beleive he went to war at 16, but again it is only what I heard when I was a child.  I will keep looking and if I get chance I will look on the MR website, still at work :'(
