My great great great grandfaher I think was a Joseph Davies  who  lived in Tanygaer Isaf in the 1830- 1840s.  There is also a Rachel Davies and Joseph Davies Ty Mawr buried in the churchyard. She died around 1790 and he died around 1830. When my great greatgrandmother Mary Davies married in Cellan Church in 1829 one of the persons present was a David Davies , Ty Mawr.

regards  Hi there was a Joseph Jones in tanygaer cellan. And his dourter Margaret Jones married  Isaac Davies his father was David Davies and his father Joseph Davies. Like me on F-cebook Joseph Douglas Davies.

I may be related to the Evans family of Gogoyan, Llanddewi Brefi. I think my 2x grt grandfather Jenkin Rees b Llangybi (c1814-c1882) married a Mary Evans in 1848 at Llanddewi Brefi. I believe this could have been Mary Evans (1828-1895), whose father was John Evans, (1791-1857) who was born and died at Gogoyan. Mary's sister, Diana, had a son called Jonathan Ceredig Davies, author, traveller and expert on Welsh folklore.
However, I am not 100% sure. I live a long way from Wales and can only rely on online records. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Caulfeild

hmm, now there's a thought!

possible marriage reg
David Lewis dec qtr 1884 Tregaron vol 11b pg 123 with Mary Davies on the same page.
The other 2 names on the page Joseph Morgan & Margaret James could be the Joseph & Margaret Morgans in Gorwydd, Llanddewi brefi in 1894, their eldest child being 5. RG12/4564 folio 116 pg 11

Not that I can find a likely Mary Lewis in 1891 or 1901.

:-\joseph Morgan and Margaret had a son jonnie and a daughter Hannah. There was a Mary but she was live in help. My g grand mother. I have a lot of information around llanddewi brefi.
