Can anyone help to locate my missing Great Great Grandfather?

Been looking for him for years without success.

Deceased possibly between 1895 to 1924.

Can anyone help find William?

Any information or leads would be very welcome as we have hit a brick wall with this.

I would dearly love to know what became of my great grandfather.

There is a facebook group for the family called

Fowell & Poad Family England.

Henry William Poad and wife Harriet Ellen Fry had 13 children in total

1 girl and 2 of their boys died very young, one daughter and one son both died unmarried with no children.   With all the males gone the Poad surname in Australia died out in 1939.

8 daughters all married and had large families, there are many descendants still living under other surnames Wood, Steed, Miller, Kent, Wallis, Johnson, Jones, Patterson.

Henry W Poad's uncle Thomas Poad moved to New Zealand around 1838.

There is a large number of Poad in New Zealand and some have moved to Australia.

Accident. A slow recovery is being made by Mr Fred Rowland who met with a very severe accident, recently.  He was travelling between Clunes and Tourello in a jinker, when he was overtaken by a motorcar travelling in the same direction, which struck the jinker with much force and smashed it almost to pieces.  The driver was thrown heavily to the ground sustaining very severe injuries.  The patient has just been
able to leave his bed within the past few days, and some time will elapse before he again becomes convalescent.

Australia Lookups completed / Re: Ballarat/Geelong John Carver 1850s
« on: Saturday 20 June 20 04:39 BST (UK)  »

Does any one have information about the John Carver of 'Carver & Dalton' who were auctioneers in Ballarat and Geelong in the 1850s?.   One of the recreations at the Soveriegn Hill theme park in Ballarat is their auction and sale room -  his associate was a William Dalton.

Thanks,

Neil Carver.

As I was searching for information on William Dalton

and trying to figure out if my man was the William Dalton of Carver & Dalton.
