You are correct Kiltaglassan.

Mary Agnew, born in Scotland is my Nanna’s Auntie.

Mary Agnew’s birth registration shows that her Dad, James Agnew and her Mum, Margaret Farley (Farrelly) got married in Pawtucket, USA in 1897.

James Agnew was born in Manchester, England (where I live) in 1874.

Margaret Farley (Farrelly) was born in 1874 at the Half Acre (Fair Green Hill).

Margaret Farley (Farrelly) entire family can be found on the Census Return 1841 when her sister, Rose Anne submitted her application.

http://censussearchforms.nationalarchives.ie/reels/c19/007246686/007246686_01356.pdf

Parents of the children are Thomas Smith and Jane Beatty (Beattie I presume).

Marriage for Thomas and Jane can be found here.

Thomas’ Dad is William Smith.  I’m assuming that he was born around 1795.

William Jardine can be found under Jordine in 1920.

Just can’t find the birth registration for John Jardine.

My 3xG Grandfather, John Argue lived in Fairtown, Clonervy, Castleterra from around 1860 until he passed away in 1876.

He married Ellen Noon and had at least 5 children.

Ellen (my 2xG Grandmother)
Susan
Mary
James
John

He may or may not be connected to your family history as I’m led to believe that John and his ancestors lived in Fairtown for some considerable amount of time.

Hi all,

On the 1821 Census, you will find James Plunkett (b 1781) in Lecharry, Crosserlough with his wife Mary, and sons, Thomas and Connor.

Connor Plunkett was a sponsor to Bridget Brady’ baptism in 1846.

This is my family connection comes in.

Bridget is the sister of James Brady, b 1860 to Bernard (Bryan) Brady and Mary Plunkett.

Mary Plunkett would be the daughter of James and Mary Plunkett.

In relation to your query, Michael Plunkett married Elizabeth Reilly in 1844.

Children as below.

Just need to add, Elizabeth who was on in Feb 1854.  In 1884, she married Matthew Brady.

Bernard Brady and his wife, Mary (nee Plunkett) was Elizabeth’ sponsors when she got baptised.

James Plunkett, (father of Thomas, Connor, Mary and Michael) passed away on 15 Aug 1866 at a fantastic age of 85.

His funeral was on the 18 Aug 1866.

I’m still working on this family, so more information will be available.

Speak soon.

James

Yes, that’s correct.

Mary (mum) was originally Smith.

She first married John Farley (Farrelly) on 9th July 1876.

Her second marriage was to Hugh White on 20th August 1880.

John and Mary had a daughter called Margaret who married James Agnew.

James Agnew and Margaret had a son called Henry Agnew in 1898.

Henry is my Nanna’s Dad

FOA GRIMUPNORTH

Hope you are still online.

Are you related to Mary Anne White who married John Jardine on 27th February 1911?

If so, her mum, Mary White was my 3rd Great Grandmother.

Hope you get in touch.

I’ve got these in my family tree.  William was born in 1861/2 though.
The Census has been mis-transcribed.  Are you able to contact me?

Hi Barbara

My husband has a William Caldwell in his tree, born 1850 in Tyrone. His parents were Charles and Jane Caldwell. Unfortunately that's all we know, but there could be a connection to your Caldwells.

Hi,

Not sure whether you will see this post.  But I’ll give it a go.

The person I’m trying to get in touch with is known as ‘liscoole’

Was your William Caldwell, b circa 1851, married to Margaret Gilmore?

His parents were Charles and Jane Caldwell.

Both William and Charles both being ‘Cooper by trade’

William and Margaret had 12 children in Belfast, ranging from 1888 to 1907.

If anyone sees this post, please make contact.

Thank you

James
