Lancashire / Re: Callaghan- Liverpool to Manchester
« on: Saturday 10 February 24 11:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hiya, I haven't been on here for a long time, I didn't actually realise just how long it had been, I just wanted to say Hi, i have been struggling with my Callaghans for many years now.
i have recently done a DNA test for me and my mum and a mystery has been solved as to her father, but it now seems that he was also a descendent of the Callaghans too a cousin.
my Callaghans on my maternal side are from Donegal and moved to Warwickshire, Lancashire and the paternal side are from Cork, and moved to Chesterfield Derbyshire.

Donegal / Re: Callaghan Family
« on: Sunday 13 February 22 11:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hiya there, I haven't been on here in a while but thought I would just come back one and search a few names to see what comes up.My G Grandmother was born in Donegal in 1850 but came to Nuneaton Warwickshire her parents were Patrick Callaghan born around 1820 in Ireland and Mary Howe born In Nuneaton in 1816.
this is about all I have managed to find Patrick seems to disappear after 1871 and his children are with their grandparents in Nuneaton.
I have been searching for a few years now off and on and never find anything relating to him so It was nice to come here and Just see the Callaghan name so they did exist, I was beginning to wonder with mine.

any advice or tips where I could go next would be much appreciated  ;D

Thank you, yes I have looked at it and did see the dob I just didn't know why would someone would change it that's all.
it would just make sense as to why I can't find any record of his birth.
he is a mystery to me  :-\

THere has been a correction made on his year of birth, could this be possible that he is actually 10 years older and this could be why I can't trace his birth?
sorry for all the questions I am still trying to work out the ins and outs of the process
thank you :)
