Dear Mike
Thank you for replying and the offer of help.
My husband's family is GRUFFERTY. He was from Mayo Ireland, where I know a lot of Farm labourers came from in those times.
James bought the family and settled but moving on to Leeds before the First World War.
We have lived in York in the past but had not got interested in Family History, much to our regret . Living now in Brisbane Australia we do visit places by Google Earth and have been to Bedale about 1992.
Thank you again
Brenda

Did you get your book published Mike?
Interested as my husbands family lived in Plews Yard Aiskew. As there were 19 n the household often wondered what was the dwelling and where it was situated in Aiskew.

Hi Pete
We had discovered Father Joseph. Trouble is we have a lot of info on these families but have yet to link them all.
They all came from County Mayo. Some went to Uk and others to USA also Canada.
Have had contact with some members in Canada and New York.
Where do you fit in?
We will be away until June but catch up yhen

My ggggrandmother was MARIA BROWNE and married ADAM GLENDENNING in GT Yarmouth in 1800. One of their children was called JOHN.
So your grandfather could be a descendent of him. I find it hard to find any Glendennings in Norfolk.
It was Johns sister Maria who married ROBERT  BREEZE my gggrandfather in 1823.
Does this help?

Thank you so much for those census entries.
I now know my Grandmother had an elder sister, and the name of her grandmother.
Thanks again for taking the trouble to reply
