Many thanks ev. I shall have a look at this. My mother was told of this at 19 years of age so perhaps made a mistake of the town. She was never given her adoption papers or birth certificate and when her father died they were not in the house. We acquired a copy of her birth certificate from Edinburgh. Thanks your help is much appreciated.

The adoptive mother died in child birth having my mums sister Jean who was brought up by an aunt and uncle and now lives near me and I see her regularly. Complicated I know. Jean is married to my dad's younger brother.

Mr Thomas Y Boyd died 11/09/1994 aged 83. Adopted father
Adopted mother died in 1947. Not sure of details. My grandad re married when Dorothy was around 7 years old. I knew her as granny.

The hospital was the royal maternity Edinburgh. The informant was her mum signed G***** F******
I knew her adoptive parents. My granny and grandad and they lived in Manuel terrace Whitecross
I will need to check on date they died but one was buried at Muiravonside church grave yard

Thank you Monica for trying to find some information, it is much appreciated. I realise that my mothers siblings may still be alive but if I want information I cannot wait too long. I would like a photo and perhaps some health information for myself and my own family.
