Hi, this is a weird one for you.

I was wondering if anyone has had any findings on the above address as I have discovered both sides of my family have used this address but it was at a time that there was no connection between them.

I am starting to think that it was a Mother and Baby home?

Any light shed would be great.

Thanks,

Thats great you got sorted!

I am looking for Doyle's too but they are the Kilcoole / Delgany / Black Lion area (don't know if they are all the same area or not). Finding it very difficult as no family left to ask questions and I can't go beyond my great grandfather as have no information.

Good look with your continued research.

Thanks all, you've all found what I had and if it was Healy's Court I'd say its the one off Francis Street but all six birth certificates say Hely's Court, that us the reason why I positive its right.

Thanks again.

Dublin / Anyone heard of the place Hely's Court, Dublin??
« on: Monday 19 July 21 14:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My father and his siblings were born in the 1930's and 1940's and registered in Hely's Court, Dublin South City No 1 (on birth certificate) but this area has long gone off the maps and has most likely been renamed.

I am just wondering if there are any people out there that might possibly know or heard of the area? There is a similar named one called Healy's Court but I don't think this is it as on all 6 of my relatives birth certs it has Hely's Court.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you both for your help.  :)  Everything that you have found and attached is exactly what I had found myself but was unsure of.

What threw me off scent about the Daniel Death was the daughter's name was Bridget Ryan as I had researched and found she had married a John Gough in the USA but looking again I discovered that she remarried in 1902 to a Michael Ryan and has herself registered as a Spinster so one mystery solved.

Glad I published it here now as you've just confirmed everything that I was suspecting was correct.

Unfortunately I don't and because of incomplete records I cannot find the birth of my great grandmother Mary Maddock but can find her registration of marriage in 1884 and her father & mother registration of marriage in 1865 (which I've attached).

I can't get any further than what you have discovered and am trying to connect the dots as I do feel that they are possible relations but cannot join them together as when my descendants married or had children if they couldn't spell they just took the spelling that was written down by the Registrar hence the different spellings.

My great grandmother was Mary Maddock, daughter of Daniel and Mary Maddock (nee Mansfield) and having done some research I see that there was a lot of misspelling of the surname hence the above variants.

I am looking to see if there are people out there who have links with the Maddock / Maddocks / Maddox / Maddix family as they were mainly based in and round Butcher's Lane / Mayor's Walk / Barrack Street / Newgate Street.

Any information would be great.

TIA

Do you mean my grandmother had her half sister as her witness?

If so then yes I had seen that, it took me a while to realise the name was Nora/h and not Mona as once I found that Patrick had remarried to a Nora/h thats when I put it together.
