Cork / Someone Please help me
« on: Tuesday 12 June 07 01:42 BST (UK)  »
I have posted numerous posts, and havent had much luck.

Im looking for the Donovan Family.  There from Cork City.

Michael Donovan had 6 children with Julie/Julan reagan/Regan.

6 children are (in no order) Elizabeth, Michael, Nora, Edward, Gerry (possibly Gerrard) and Catherine.

Mallow is significant, as it Cork city and Quarls, Kirls quay (spelling?)

Michael's Family were quite well off, julan/Julie Reagan/Regan died in 1930's, i think Michael Donovan died not long after.

This is really important to me as my nan Elizabeth was the last remainding surviving family memeber and she died 2 weeks ago.  She had dementia the last few years so i couldnt get that much info.

I have the birth Certificate for my nan Elizabeth and her Brother Michael, but i cant understand what it says, the writing is to hard for me to make out.

If anyone could help i could send a copy either in the post or by email of the birth certificates, for more info possibly

Ive tried website links from rootschat but cant get nothing up and as im not 100% sure on my great grandmothers surname its proving quite difficult.

Thanks in advance

Rachel Clifford

Hi, I am looking for any info on my great grand parents from Cork.  Great Grand father was Michael Donovan, who was apperently from a well off high class family.  I think he had a brother/s.  He was training to be a doctor, but never completed his studies.  I know that the family had also travelled to America, however am not sure of the reasons for this and if any of them even settled there.

My Great Grandmother was called Julan / Julie / Julianne Reagan / Regan.  She died sometime in the mid 1930's.  She was quite young when she died, but i am not sure of her Date of Birth/Death.  She had 6 children with Michael Donovan.

Children were Edward, Gerard, Michael, Nora, Catherine and Elizabeth.  I have the birth certificates for Michael Donovan (jnr) who was born 27/01/32.  Elizabeth was born 08/08/30.  The district of registration is hard to read but i think it says No or Mo 4, llrlian or urlian.

I know after the death of my Great Grandmother, Some of the children if not all travelled to England, But i am not sure if my great grandfather did or not.  It kind of stops there.  Thats all the info i have.

Any more info will be very much appreciated

Thanks

Hi, i am searching my ancestors but its proving extremely difficult.  I'm searching for my great grand parents.  Michael Donovan who had 6 children with Julie/Julette/Julan/Julianne Reagan/Regan.  Children's names were (in no order) Nora, Edward, Jerry (Gerry), Elizabeth, Catherine and Michael.  My Nan, Elizabeth was the second youngest of the six children born on 8th August 1930 In Cork.  I am not too sure exactly what part of Cork they were from but i think mallow and corcaigh (not sure of spelling) were the places.  My great grandfather Michael Donovan was from quite a well off family and was apparently training to be a doctor, however i don't think he continued.  Michael Donovan My great grandfather had a brother named Con, I am not sure if this is short for anything.  I also know that my great grandfathers family travelled to America, but am not sure how often.  I know my great grand fathers family had a lot to do with property and my Nan has often talked about them owning a cinema or a picture house as my Nan calls it.  My great grandfather was apparently shunned upon by his family because my great grandmothers family were not as 'upper class' as his.  I don't know any birth or death dates however my great grandmother died roughly about 1935 +/- 3 years.  My great grand father apparently died not long after.  If anyone has any information i will be extremely delighted. Thanks
