Maybe too late to be useful but I worked with Flash on two large jobs when he worked for Plymouth City Council around 1975. Flash was well beyond his boxing career and was working as a plasterer. He was good at his job.  I remember that he suffered from arthritis at that time.  I was an 18 year old student working part time as a labourer. Flash used to tell us stories about his boxing days but only when we asked questions. He was a nice, well mannered, unassuming person.  Wish I could remember more and if I do then I'll post more info. Hope this helps a little even six years late
