Sussex / Re: Marjorie May Biggs/McIvor/O'Sullivan, 1925-?

There is a Marjorie O'Sullivan death 2008 Ipswich - born 1924

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

I wouldn't have thought this was her, as this lady seemingly doesn't have a middle name, and also birth year is one out. My great-grandmother was definitely born in 1925 according to Civil Births and 1939 register.

She could have moved to Ipswich though, but I doubt this is her. Thank you though.

Sussex / Marjorie May Biggs/McIvor/O'Sullivan, 1925-?
« on: Wednesday 12 March 25 19:08 GMT (UK)  »
Good day,

My great-grandmother, Marjorie May Biggs, may still be alive at 100. I am not sure when/if she died, this is what I am seeking help with.

Some details:
* Born on 10 January 1925 in Southampton
* Married John McIvor in Romsey in July 1943
* Had 12 children (some have her maiden name recorded as Briggs, as opposed to Biggs)
* Divorced, later remarried in 1982 to John Joseph O'Sullivan, who died in 1993 in Eastbourne
* Last known alive in 2002, living in Eastbourne with youngest son Nicholas and daughter-in-law Emma, according to Find My Past electoral registers.

I cannot find a Marjorie McIvor or Marjorie O'Sullivan in the GRO death records on the website.
Does this mean she is still living, has died recently, or maybe she has died outside of England/Wales?

Carmarthenshire / Ancestry of David Harris, born c.1798 in Llandeilofawr?
« on: Sunday 09 February 25 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
Good day,
My partner is Welsh, and I have been trying very, very hard to accurately trace her ancestry, which is proving difficult as her surname is Harris. Her ancestry has many people surnamed Thomas, Davies, and Williams too.

I have hit a brick wall at David Harris, who according to the 1851 census, was born around 1798 in Llandeilo(fawr?), he married Anne Thomas on 4 December 1827 in Llandeilofawr (I have found marriage record). Their eldest son William, baptised 7 November 1828, is my partner's ancestor. They had at least 5 more children: David (1831), Thomas (1834), Herbert (1838), John (1842), and Harry (1846).

Can anyone help me trace the Harris name further back?

Regards,
Jack

Yes, David Harris remarried to Catherine at some point (presumably in the 1890s), though I'm not currently sure when Ann died or Catherine's maiden/previous surname.

I have not yet found a death record for David or Ann, or a marriage record for David and Catherine.

EDIT: I know this is correct as the 1901 census is a match for William Harris (b. 1883), whose line I am tracing.

Ignoring the birth certificate which I can't be certain is for him, could this be him in the 1861 census? Father's name William (coal miner), born in Bettws (lines up with 1881 census which I know is him), and born around the right time.

I also have a GRO copy of his marriage certificate, it states they were married on 17 November 1877. David was a collier, as was his father William, who was alive at that time.

Ann Howells' father David Howells (deceased) was also a collier. David Harris and Ann Howells lived in Glaish, Llansamlet, at the time.

Witnesses were William Harris, Peter Thomas, Jeremiah Daniel, and GB Haynes.

Could it have been a different Lettice Lloyd that married William Harris? Or could William Harris have died between 1857 and 1860?

I'm not even certain that the birth certificate I've got is the right David Harris, to be honest. I've tried to attach a photo of it here but the image is apparently too big.
