You've certainly been doing a LOT of research  ;) The Margaret Cody you mentioned here was my own mother.

trying to find a maiden name for Denis Farnan wife Ellen, they married circa 1895-7 they had a child Mary Ellen born Dublin 1906.

Any Farnan family info would be appreciated especially regs
 NICHOLAS D-O-B 1809-1888
 OR HIS WIFE MAIDEN NAME..MARGARET D-O-B 1818 -1881.
If any one else researching the Farnan family, I have some research material available.
thank you.

From what I can gather, Nicholas Farnan was my great-great-grandad. He died in 1888 in the workhouse in Castlecomer. His son was also Nicholas. It seems to make sense that we're talking about the same Nicholas (d.1888) because my great-grandad married Alice Donnelly (died 1917) and their daughter was also Margaret.

From a local survey "Householders 1906 Conahy Parish"  there is a Nicholas Farnan in Clinstown.  No other info given.  Ballyragget Parish and Conahy Parish are adjacent.     :)

The Nicholas Farnan in Clinstown was my Great-Grandad. I'm not sure where he originated from but know that he was related to the Farnans in Knockroe. He's not the same Nicholas that was buried in Dunmore graveyard though. He married Alice Donnelly of Clinstown in 1886. She died in October 1917.  They had one daughter only (Margaret, my grandmother, and she died in November 1971).

Our family has pictures of Alice but we don't know what he looked like nor even when he died. He didn't finish his days in Clinstown and none of the family seems to know where he went to after that either.
