That's a good compromise and should give you plenty of time to conduct some thorough research.

Good luck.

I am currently pulling together a scrapbook to commemorate the centenary the Everton Red Triangle Boxing Club in Liverpool.

It was first known as the Everton Red Cross Triangle Lads’ Club and became a branch of the YMCA after it acquired the property from the Newsboys’ Home for Friendless and Destitute Boys on Everton Road, (120-126) not far from the Heyworth Street junction with Breck Road in November 1919.

I would be interested to hear if any readers have photographs, old newspaper cuttings etc. related to the home back in the those early days. See attached clipping I have confirming its transition to the YMCA back in 1919.

Thanks in advance

Just saw this thread. I am currently pulling together a scrapbook on the history of the Everton Red Triangle Boxing Club (100 years old this year) which was on Everton Road.
It took over the Newsboys home in 1919 when the Newsboy Home became known as the Everton Red Cross Triangle Lads’ Club and became a branch of the YMCA after it acquired the property from the Newsboys’ Home for Destitute Boys on Everton Road, (120-126) not far from the Heyworth Street junction with Breck Road in November 1919.

I would be most interested in receiving any photographs of the Newsboys home (redkop) if you are willing as these would be a useful addition to the scrapbook.

Thanks in advance
