Durham / Re: Estle Road, Stockton on Tees
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 20:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi Roobarb

Thank-you for taking the time to look this up for me.
Sorry I don't have any other information.  The address was clearly typed, it was from the original image of a ship's passenger list.
I did notice from the image that the next family on the list also had an address containing the word Estle. It was Estle Hill Farm, so maybe whoever typed the document got the road name of mine's mixed up.

Hi All

Thank-you for taking the time to look at this post.
Does anyone recognise this road or one of similar spelling, either in Stockton or it could have been in Sedgefield.  This address was taken from a passenger list in 1923.

Any help would be appreciated

Sorry Bustagut, called you the wrong name.
I work in Stillington and one of mine lived in Stillington.  Most of the old houses in Stillington were built for the workers of Carlton Ironworks.  Small world sometimes

Hi roobarb
I have searched the St Catherine's index but can't find death for Charles.  Searched 1924 to 1934 and nothing.  I did find death for Julia in Stockton, 1934.
Are you sure he died and didn't just leave her.
On 1891 and 1901 census' my gg gran said she was widowed but I found my gg grandad's death in 1918 with my gg gran as registering the death

I live in Stockton and our library has old newspapers on  microfilm.  If you manage to get a date I could look it up for you.
I will search some more years on St Catherine's

Cumberland / Meta Wilson, 1926

Hi Everyone

While at Penrith market a few years ago I picked up a small 'New Testament' from the car boot sale area.  Inside the front cover the name Meta Wilson August 1926 is written.  If it is was/is a relative of yours and you would like it I will gladly forward it to you. There are no other words written in it.

Hi 2zpool
I was thinking that the first Thomas may have died before 1811 but can't find the info.  Think I have replied to you before on a similar topic.  I am descended from the 2nd Thomas.  There was also another brother Luke Alexander, 1802.  He was born in St Martin in the Fields.
My sister has the family bible from this branch of the family.  It originally belonged to Hannah Nethercliff of Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, but I haven't been able to connect her with the family.  Do you have any links with this name.
Thanks for looking.
