Mayo / Re: GRIFFERTY/GRUFFERTY family

I am new to this so please excuse mistakes.  I had an Uncle who died a number of years ago, his name is Father Joseph Grifferty, an Augustinian Priest - affiliated with Villanova University.  I heard that he used to visit relatives in County Mayo.  I would be interested to know who these people were.  Perhaps there is a connection to the family you are looking for.  We do have some history on the family in America dating back to the early 1900's.  Let me know if this helps.
