Thanks Maggsie, Debra and KG. That record for Mary Ann's residence looks a bit like 'Murry' but I'm probably wrong.
Thanks again,
Michael :)

Thanks a lot Minniehaha, Janette, Maiden Stone, Spades. I haven't seen Mary's death or marriage records, or the birth records of her children - I think other relatives might have bought them and just written down the information which is how I've gotten them. I'll definitely look into it!

Thanks,
Michael :)

Tipperary / Re: Researching David/James Madden
« on: Sunday 14 June 20 22:08 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for all your help myluck!, dathai, Sinann. That does change things up quite a bit. Is it possible that Denis and Margaret had another daughter called Maria, or alternatively, there is a mistake on her marriage record? I've heard that her and Maria and Patrick were both the only children in their families, but maybe my Maria was the second daughter?
Thanks,
Michael :)

Tipperary / Researching David/James Madden
« on: Friday 12 June 20 12:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me with this research into my Irish ancestors.
My ancestor Maria Madden (daughter of David/James) was born born in either 1869 or 1872. I have her birth as August 13 1872, (can't remember where I found this). There is a baptism record for a Mary Madden on 27 April 1869, the daughter of James Madden and Bridget Deane (in Tipperary).

However, on her marriage record to Patrick Purcell in 1895 her father is listed as David!
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1895/10528/5835005.pdf

Alternatively, I have her down as the daughter of David Madden and Margaret Grace (not sure where I found this). Of her 7 children, her second daughter was named Bridget, and first son was named James (possibly after father-in-law but not sure). Her other son was named Patrick.

Maria and Patrick lived in Shinrone, Offaly too - thought this might help with research. She passed away in 1958 aged "86."

Thanks,
Michael

Hi I was just wondering if someone would be able to help me out with dating this photo of my ancestors. The man and woman on the left are William and Elizabeth Jamieson (nee Riddell). I believe the other man is one of William's brothers but I'm not sure. A photo of the back of the photo is also attached. From what I have found it was taken in a studio in Glasgow, Scotland where they lived.
William: born 1843 - died c.1895
Elizabeth: born 1849 - died 1909

If someone is able to restore it that would be much appreciated too!!
Thanks,
Michael  :)

New Zealand Completed Requests / Mary Dyer - Born c.1855 Waterford?, Ireland
« on: Friday 12 June 20 12:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi I was just wondering if someone is able to help me with my relative - Mary Dyer. She was born in about 1855, probably Waterford, Ireland and immigrated to New Zealand (not sure when). She married John Mace on the 7th of September 1875 in Otago. The family lived in Cardrona (8 children). If someone is able to help me find her immigration record, it would much appreciated. She possibly immigrated to Australia first and then to New Zealand but I really am not sure. Her middle name was Catherine but it is not used on many records. Mary passed away on 6 Jan 1937 in Wellington.
Thanks,
Michael :)

Carlow / Re: Donohoe Family - Carlow

Very sorry about that, I confused James (father) with his son (Patrick). James Murphy married Mary Ann Donohoe - date should be 1860 sorry, and links to some of children's births and his death are attached. The photo of the marriage record is too large so I included a screenshot of the details from Ancestry. I've found 7 children but there is possibly more.
Patrick Murphy death:

Francis Murphy birth:

Wicklow / Re: Breaden Family - Dunlavin, Wicklow
« on: Thursday 11 June 20 06:09 BST (UK)  »
Thanks Kiltaglassan, Sinann, dathai - I never would have expected any of what you've found, it is much appreciated. I managed to find George Breaden's death record (1951), and potentially Catherine's in 1962. I couldn't find anything on Eugene and James, or a more definite record of Catherine's death, but if you are able to look too maybe something will come up. Haven't looked very far into it, but the marriage/death of Catherine's children and possibly births of grandchildren would also be very helpful.

Thanks again!
Michael :)
