Hi all . I am researching my 6th G Grandfather William de Rouffignac's Naval background . All i know is that he served as a midshipman on the HMS Boreas about 1760 in UK . So if any naval buffs can help with more info here i would be grateful . Thank you .

Hi all . I have a question regarding my 8th G Grandfather Jacob de Rouffignac , a french Huguenot who came to the Uk as a refugee . On the Ancestry site it says Jacob was seeking poor relief in 1687 in London . So "Why would a religious Minister like Jacob need poor relief??". I;m sure someone well educated could find employment ?. In later years He did have work in Stanford le hope . Any ideas here . Thank you .
