"Has anyone got any social history of the steel mills in pennsylvania in the 1950s?". Some of my Cousins worked there in the Summers to fund College . Any help appreciated and thank you .

So "What was a cotton porter in the 1850s ?". Has anyone any social history of this work at the time please ? An ancestor of mine is on a census as being a porter in Docks Liverpool . Thank you .

The Common Room / Help needed in finding my Great Grandmother from Liverpool

Hi all . I have gotten in a mix up regarding my Great Grandma Edith Aspinall and Her Mother!. Please could anyone find the correct Mother of Edith ?. So Edith was Born 1870 in West derby Liverpool and Her Husband was Evan Parry born 1866 in West derby . Any help is appreciated thank you . Then I can resume to filling in the gaps in my F tree .

All this information is great so thanks again . It really paints a picture of how William would have worked back then in ths rural place . I will contact the friends of the lake district to inquire about walling in the 1800s . They may have history here . William lived for 74 yrs , so he must have been fairly healthy despite the laborious jobs . Best wishes to you all .

So my ancestor worked on stone walls in 1840 in fell side Kendal Westmoreland . Any info of the social history here would be appreciated . Thanks .
