Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Turvey family (block hat occupation) of Dunstable
« on: Sunday 07 September 25 15:42 BST (UK)  »
Once again thank you to you all for this update . It is all a great surprise! It seems Florence and her parents where doing okay in the 1900s as far as housing . I saw a recent pic of Great northern road , Dunstable online . The standard of the house looks great . Many families where living in slums back then , and i know other ancestors of mine in Liverpool where in slums!. Also , the military info for Stanley Turvey was interesting . Great to see he made it through the war and was appreciated for his service . The wedding of my Gran Florence sounded like a big do back then. I can picture the event . So thanks for all your time and research , it has made my day.

Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Turvey family (block hat occupation) of Dunstable
« on: Saturday 06 September 25 19:03 BST (UK)  »
My step Grandmother was Florence Turvey b 1895 in Bedfordshire . She came from a family of block hat makers in dunstable I believe . "Are there any Turvies out there connected here?". Just wanting to link up with other possible relatives . I think Dunstable in it's day was famous for hat making . Thanks
