Hi
My 3xG grandad was from Somerset, Shadrach Webber b1844 he married my 3xG grandmother in Wigan in 1869, when he was a widower.

I believe he married a Mary Ann Massey in Crickhowell in September 1865, please can anyone look up? I don't know if they where both SOJ or if she was from a local family. I know she was dead by 1869. He was home in Somerset on the 1861 census and in Wigan for the 1871 census.

He was a lifelong miner, and I know nothing of this period between censuses. Between Somerset and Wigan.

Thanks in anticipation for any help.

Hi
I'm also looking into the Webber family
Shadrach (Shadrack) son of Son of John & Hester Webber. He is shown living in Camerton in 1851 & 1861 censuses.
In 1871 census he is living in Aspull nr Wigan. He married a widow Elizabeth Kay (formally Seddon), and is step father to 3 children.
He has 3 daughters with Elizabeth- Esther b. 11 June 1871 Clara b. 9 September 1872 and Alice b. 13 December 1873 who only lives 8 months.

It is curious that Esther & Clara are baptised twice in Chapel and Cof E Church!

Elizabeth dies and Shadrach remarries in 1877 - Alice Goulding shown as his wife in the 1881 census with whom he has two sons.

Shadrach as worked as a miner most of his life, except for a couple years his occupation is as a publican when his daughter Ether marries. In the 1901 census he is a colliery underground official. He dies in 1906.

I know his sister Rhoda marries Mark Mitchel Perkins 19 Aug 1866 in Bristol, and has a daughter Eliza born in 1867 (1871 census both in Camerton with her parents)
