I think the Andrew Liddell that you were thinking of is my ancestor —- he certainly did have a daughter named Helen that died in 1859 (she was born in 1842) — she’s mentioned on the his tombstone which is shown at the ‘A Conspicuous Object’ website (see the web link below). He had five children: Andrew Liddell (he went on to become a civil engineer), Francis Liddell (became a doctor and a politician), Fanny (she died at quite a young age), and Margaret Liddell (married into the Littlejohn family).

A Conspicuous Object — Andrew Liddell— this is my ancestor. He came out from Scotland: (https://www.geni.com/people/Andrew-Liddell/6000000049825712857), however, there is some confusion caused by the Free Settler or Felon webpage (https://www.freesettlerorfelon.com/andrew_liddell.htm).
‘Free Settler or Felon’ does mention Andrew Liddell coming over on the George Fyfe (correct information), but this is not related to what ‘Free Settler or Felon’ mention regarding a Dr Liddell arriving in South Australia i.e. they mention:
‘Dr. Liddell with wife and child arrived in South Australia on the Glenswilly in 1839 with the intention of travelling on to Sydney. (possibly William?)’.
The ‘Andrew Liddell’ that came over from Scotland is not the Andrew Liddell of South Australia —-they are two different people.
