Thanks

Marriages Sep qtr 1962
FINCH    William H    (GRAY)
GRAY    Blanche L    (FINCH)
York    2d   1830

The green writing CR283 gives an amendment date of 12 6 86 - the date the adjustment was done not the marriage date

I thought it was a reference to a document.  I realise it is not a date of a marriage.  may I ask how you came to the conclusion so that if I come across this scenario again I can find it

Hi

Blanche Lilian Hilton married Joseph Gray, and on the document for 1939 there is green notes and wondered what they were.  Clearly she has remarried and struggling to find he second marriage and hoped this reference may help

Ireland / Death Registrations &

The following I can obtain from Irish Geneology

births 1864 - 1924
marriages 1845 - 1949
deaths 1871 - 1974

After those dates where can I find the information.  Its pretty easy for England I just go to the Gro.Gov Website or Free BMD.  Not sure how I would do the same for Ireland (Not Nothern Ireland)   Guidance would be appreciated

Oh please don’t be offended. It does get messy as you follow the thread because of course we were looking for a different Lillian initially.
However, when you get a chance to print it off, have a look at those replies regarding Lily daughter of John Henry and Sarah Anne.
Lots of it fits in with her. I have just been trying to see if I can find any connections with any of the other names but not at the moment.
As you say, lots of connections in the village with those names will make it more difficult for you. It may well be that they are not part of the extended family but just part of the extended village life.
For some of us, helping out like this is our way of coping with our lives too.

Good news, I have found the link, back to the Goodall family.  One of the sons called Henry Goodall, whose mother is Rachel Clayton, I remembered I had seen Rachel before (came up as a hint).  I did a search in my tree and there was Rachel Clayton she hd I think 6 children and one of them was henry Goodall.  I have merged the two Henry Goodall together and it has all come together apart from the first born and I think he was out of wedlock.

I utterly appreciate the help and I would not have got where I am without all your help.  There were not many families in the village where I live and everyone knew everyone and the repetitive names even in real life was a lot and when you see it on screen you realise how close knit they were.  When I look through the parish registers for Garforth ALL those names are on repeat

Thank you to everyone

If you read the replies from reply #14 on re Lillie/Lily Goodall her birthdate is very similar (2 yrs out, I think) and her father’s occupation is also similar to your Lilian Maude.

I quite agree heywood, poster needs to review posts carefully.

SS

Thank you for your response.  I was asked by heywood to give some extra supporting information which I have done.  I have yesterday and today been at work, full time, been out and walked the dog, made my tea and finally sat down.  I am recovering from an awful flu which I have had since 16th December, and had the crappest xmas yet.

I have tried to keep on top of it and understand it all.  I will admit I am having difficulty with it.  I am back in the office tomorrow to print this thread off, as to be honest none of it makes sense.  It takes TIME for me to get to understand things like this.  I don't have the luxury of anyone at home helping me out with running a home, and can only do this in the spare time that I have.  I am not the sharpest tool in the box, but I am giving it a go and appreciating the time and effort of others - thank you

Yes I just searched and was going to ask about Gwendoline.
From a Published tree, her father named as Frederick Walter Lovett, b 1892, Tadcaster. He is shown as the son of George Lovett and Dorcas Learoyd.

You can check those.

Yes I have those, I recall my grandma the name Dorcas was mentioned (god know why).  The main names I recall my grandma mentioning was Lovatt, Goodall, Brownridge and Learoyd. Back in the day grandparents (unless absolute family) were referred to by surname thats how I know the surnames lol

The Red L indicates my direct line of Grandparents.  The green circle is my problem child of Lilian.  I did check all the children of Lilian Maud Goodall and every single one has the mothers name Goodall.

If it helps am happy to buy my Grandma Birth Certificate from the GRO website

I will add where we live its a very small mining and farming village and the amount of big families with the same surname all marrying each other is causing such a mess.
