Hi hansen70!

My grandfather's name is Jarl and he was one of four brothers. Others were Olle and Esko, but I can't remember the fourth one right now. At least Jarl was born in Vaasa (1931 instead of 1930 as I mentioned in my earlier post). Does this ring any bells?  :) Hi,yes this ring bells...they are brothers to my dad :)

Hi,Oskar Engman was my great great grandfather and he was born in 1870 and died 1928 in Vaasa.I`ve heard same story about Irish sailor who moved to Finland with Swedish wife. What is your grandfather name?

Hi,

this post made my heart beat a little bit faster and I just had to register here. I've heard a story from my grandfather that my great great grandfather (Oscar or Oskar Engman) was an Irish sailor, who sailed to Sweden, found a wife and sailed to Finland. At the end of this story there's me and some others. My grandfather is born in 1930's so that would mean his grandfather would have born aproximately between 1850 and 1870.

I would really like to know if this story of yours has something to do with me and my family also. I would like to hear from you Florida June. :)

Best regards
Engman from Finland
