Family History Beginners Board / Arthur Martyn
« on: Monday 15 July 24 07:37 BST (UK)  »
Arthur Martyn was born in Parsons Green, Middlesex in 1846 to William John MARTIN and his wife Elizabeth Cowdery.  Arthur married Mary Ann Millington in 1876 and they had a son Roland Arthur Cowdery Martyn born 1878.  Mary Ann died in 1893.  Have found Arthur's professions as a Canvas Water Proofer, metal letter maker and an inventor.
The 1901 and 1911 Census have Arthur living with Rose Jane Martyn and her son Herbert Frank in Hammersmith and in 1911 Streatham.  We have been unable to find a marriage certificate for Rose Jane and Arthur and do not think they were married.  Unable to find a death record for Arthur.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Antrim / Paul Harper
« on: Monday 20 November 23 05:34 GMT (UK)  »
Searching for the parents of Paul Harper born 1775 in Templepatrick, County Antrim.  Paul married Ann Weaver in approx. 1800 and they had 4 to 7 children.  Paul died on January 19th, 1837 in Killnakkee, Templepatrick.

It is possible his father was Andrew or Peter and mother Nancy or Agnes but we have been unable to find any information.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Again very much appreciated receiving your comments.  According to the records I have found on line son David was born in 1845 or 1847, Margaret was born in 1851 and a son Thomas in 1853 all born in Scotland.  Five other children were born in Victoria, Australia.

I realize dates can be incorrect and I do wish your information was correct but I doubt it.

Again, thank you and stay safe.

Mary/Maria Hedican/Hedigan born 1847, County Clare, Ireland.  On her marriage certificate in Australia her father is listed as MICHAEL and mother as MARGARET McNAMARA.

On the birth certificate of my grandfather it says MARIA HARPER formerly REICHEU (we do not understand this name or reference).

On the marriage certificate of my grandfathers it has her name listed as MARIA HADIGAN.

On Mary/Maria's death certificate the name of her father was MARTIN HEDIGAN and her mother MARY HEDIGAN maiden name Mary McNAMARA.

All very confusing.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Researching Preston family father William mother Jane Fry who lived in the Parish of Tagshinny near Ballymahon, County Longford.  Have been advised that William was a 40 shilling freeholder and a tenant of A. Hamilton, Esquire, Barony of Tullyvallan.  Sons William and Thomas and daughter Margaret went to Victoria, Australia in 1850.

Would appreciate any information.
