Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Slimings of Berwick

Hi - Thanks for the quick response. I've had a quick look at my notes again, and John (who was 71 in 1901) was living at 14 Watson Street (which no longer exists, but I think was on the Headland), with George (age 22) and Beatrice (age 22) who I'm assuming are his Grandson and wife (due to the age difference). There is a toddler in the house also called George (possible John George W).
I remember my Dad telling me a story of how the 'Slimings' Clan came down from Scotland heading for London - the lazy swines we are, got to Hartlepool and gave up!!
I also found trace of a husband and wife in South Shields who were drapers - not the usual profession for a Slimings who were all in shipbuilding from an early age.

Hi - I'm a direct descendant of John Slimings and am fiercely protective of the spelling. I still live in Hartlepool and have traced a number of my relatives back to John. I think my father had quite a few uncles and aunts, all of which were the Grand Children (I think) of the Berwick John.
It's still early days in my search so any information would be useful. Sources of data have been 1910 census online, ancestry UK and Tees Valley statistics.
