Hi Jack
I have just signed up to "Roots" and saw your post. For some years (not much recently!!) I have been researching the SIBTHORP tree here in England. Although I have some references to SIBTHORP's in Ireland I have never taken it any further and, at the moment, have no direct link.
It seems that from the SIBTHORP village (built on lands given to William de Sibthorpe in Nottinghamshire in 1066 ) the SIBTHORP name spread to Esssex and Lincolnshire. My line comes from the Essex area. A lot of information I have of the SIBTHORP name comes from the book published in 1896 "An account of the SIBTHORP FAMILY" by Arthur R. Maddison.
I would be interested in your book of the SIBTHORP's in Australia and you are most welcome to ask me any question regarding the information I have on my database.
All the very best
David (Sibthorp)
