Chester, Cheshire is where they are from, just had some people pointing me towards Peter and John and was hoping they were linked.

I have been informed that John Powell was the Verger at St Johns Church in Chester??

Dublin / Henry Clarke
« on: Wednesday 08 October 08 20:23 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help with my ancestors? I have attached some information from Skipton Library and was wandering if anyone can assist please. I have been directed to Dublin, Ireland and I would really appreciate any help!!

The information  below has led me to Dublin:

In 1804, Settle was still part of Giggleswick parish, without its own parish church, so if Henry were baptised, it is most likely to have beenat Giggleswick.

As you may have found, the International Genealogical Index compiled by the Mormons from parish registers, has a Henry Clarke baptised in Giggleswick on 11th  September 1803, son of Robert Wade Clarke and Ann Robinson.  This seems to be the nearest match.  The IGI is available free to view on the internet at www.familysearch.org . We have some parish registers for Giggleswick on microfilm , and I checked baptisms for 1804 and 1805, but found no other Henry Clarke. The full entry in the register for 1803 helpfully gives grandparents as well as parents.  It reads: Sept 11th  Henry 1st son of Robert Wade Clarke of Settle son of Henry Clarke of Dublin by Ann his wife daughter of George Robinson of Settle.

Any help would be appreciated, Some information regarding Henry Clarke from Ireland would be fantastic.
