Waterford / Murphy/Morris Marriage 1840
« on: Sunday 20 December 20 20:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I have found the marriage of John Murphy and Catherine Morris 3rd March 1840 in Killea. There are no parents names listed so I can't find out who John's parents are. Is there anywhere else I could look?

Thanks

Do you have his birth certificate?  There appears to be a John Allmark, registered in Dudley Registration District, March quarter 1854 - mother's maiden name = Allmark.  Is this him?

Hi yes, we do have this birth certificate now, will update post.

21st January 1854, Fallon Row, Hall Green, Sedgley.

It appears to be the entry born 1848 as son Leonard was registered as Enoch Leonard mmn Furgeson

Do you have the 1864 marriage cert showing his fathers name?

Father also named Joseph.

I have picked out 4 Joseph Haynes born in Warwickshire

Dec 1842 Woodstock ref 16 135 MMN Newett
June 1843 Lutterworth 15 158 MMN Watts
Dec 1844 Kings Norton 18 390 MMN Parkes
Dec 1845 Coventry 16 366 Hill

I have no idea if these are the areas

Louisa Maud

We're not sure about a birthplace, the census states he was born in Willenhall.

You don't give any info as to his birthplace.  1871 has 2 with the wife as Ellen.  The one born 1843 was born in Monks Kirby Warwickshire & was living there in 1871

The other was born 1848 - not 1843 and was born Willenhall Staffs.  Is this the Joseph you are researching?

We don't know his birthplace nor his birthdate exactly, he said to be aged 22 at the time of marriage.

A re-think needed perhaps?

We have a death 1957, Wednesbury but this is not currently confirmed.

Just realised the death I'd put on here was actually his son's on the same name, put it in the wrong part of the folder. ;D

Hi yes, one thing that keeps jumping out at us is a newsarticle from 1896 of The Walsall Observer. Here is an article of a suicide of a man named Joseph Haynes aged 59 and also cites his wife Ellen. I have received the death details and it states he was a butcher, but this does not match the census which states he was a locksmith. So very unsure.
