Suffolk Lookup Requests / George & Elsie Smith - Burial records Felixstowe
« on: Wednesday 10 July 13 13:59 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My G Grandfather George Edward Smith D 1970 - lived in Exeter Road and
my G Grandmother Elisie Winfred Smith (nee Hurdell) D 1969

I have tried to find burial record for them, but to no aval, my hunch is they may have been
Cremated.

Does anyone have access to any burial records or knows of any online resources that may
help me ?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi there,

I have ancestors with the surname Bickerdike, I have traced so far
to a Richard Bickerdike, born 1806 in Yorkshire. He married
an Elizabeth Milner, their son Joseph married into my Caley family.
Robert was an East India Merchant. Joseph was a Managing Chemist.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for finding the info for me.

Just a quick question, you mentioned that John William Butler's father was Matthew, however in the 1851 census it shows George ?

Hi Mike,

My G Grandafther was called Alfred John Butler, he was born in St helier.
In the 1881 census he was living at 14 Commercial St, St helier. On his marriage certificate it states he was a Mariner, however my mum thinks he may have been in the
army or navy possibly. His fathers name was John william Butler and his mother Elizabeth Jane Huard or Jane Elizabeth Huard. His father was a Seaman R N Reserve.

Any help you can give me would be most appreciative.

Thanks

Hi there,

Was there an Electorial roll 1900 onwards in Jersey ?

Only asking as my G Grandfather was born in Jersey 1874 and came over to the UK possibly between 1900 - 1909. He married my G Grandmother in 1909 in Alverstoke, Hampshire

Isle of Man Lookup Requests / ship records
« on: Thursday 23 March 06 16:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I wondered if someone could possibly point me in the right direction :)

My Great Great Great Grandfather James Caley came from the Isle of Man to Liverpool, unfortunatly I dont know when :( however he married a Liverpool lass called Frances Ann Coombs and they had 6 children, the first of whom was my Great Great Grandfather Joseph who was christened in 1838. I'm not sure where or when James was born in the Isle of Man, I have looked on familysearch.org and found the following entries :-

JAMES CALEY - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Male Christening: 13 NOV 1803 Lezayre, Isle Of Man, England

 2. JAMES CALEY - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Male Christening: 01 OCT 1809 Lonan, Isle Of Man, England

 3. JAMES CALEY - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Male Christening: 28 FEB 1810 Ballaugh, Isle Of Man, England

I know he came form the Isle of Man as this information is on one of his childrens birth certificates and in the 1881 census and he was a joiner by trade.

Does anyone know if there are any Ship passenger lists from the Isle of Man to Liverpool ?

Any help would be most appreciated
