Mayo / Ratchford/Rochford & MacManus.

Can anyone help me with more information on my 2nd great grandparents?
They are David Ratchford or Rochford the name keeps changing between census records & his wife Eliza McManus.
David was born in Mayo according to a few English census records. Around 1837 & his wife around 1841. They were possibly married & lived in Leeds West Yorkshire England from the early 1860's onwards. He died & is buried in Leeds in 1907. I can't find much information on parents or siblings, or actual birthplace in Mayo.
Eliza's birthplace is confusing, on 2 census records it's down as being born in Ireland & another 2 born in Leeds Yorkshire, so I'm not really sure, I can't find any English birth records for her so I'm assuming she came from Ireland.

Any help much appreciated.

Hertfordshire / Re: ARNOLD family Pirton Herts/Shillington Beds
« on: Tuesday 03 December 19 22:05 GMT (UK)  »
I am so late to this but only just recently started more research on the family tree. I have also found Major Arnold & Sarah Chalkley in my tree. They are my 6th great grandparents. Their daughter Sarah Arnold married Edward Roberts etc eventually leading down to me.
My great grandad was the last of that line to be born in Bedfordshire before his parents moved to Yorkshire where I was born, so I've not got much idea of the places in Southern England.  I've been searching around for her parents too coming up with William Chalkley & Mary Harmer also. Anymore info on this would be great.  :)
Interesting I have a DNA match on another site their surname Chalkley & still in Hertfordshire, so it's come all the way down the line, they have an extensive tree with William & Mary Harmer too but no Sarah Chalkley. She must be related somehow or I wouldn't be a DNA match, if their tree is correct that is.
