Thank you both. John was a miner when he moved to England so I would say he was a miner before he left.
James York and Hester Loughlin were my ancestors. Their daughter Bridget was my 3x grandmother.

The family didn't move to England until after 1863 when the last son was born in Avoca. The other children were born in Rathdrum. He married Bridget Yorke in 1836 in Carrigleneen. It just says Ireland on 1871 England census, then he died before the next one. Bit of a full stop.

Thanks

Wicklow / Campbell Rathdrum

Hi

I looking for any Campbells originating from Rathdrum around 1809. My great grandfather John married there and had children but I don't know if he was born there.

Thanks

FC9687683 My Gedcom number. I don't know how it works yet. My Glasson/ Glissone/ Glilsone side is at a full stop and has been from I started researching. My gr x 5 grandfather was the only one to appear in Cumbria in 1820 from my family.

Hi

My ggf was baptised in 1800 in Cork as James Glisane. As far as I know he was the only Glasson to come to Cumbria in 1820s. His father was Michael, mother was Anne Taylor. I'm completely stuck, can't get any further.

Thank you. That makes sense.

Cork / Help with baptism name or place
« on: Saturday 23 August 25 15:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I'm hoping to find out what the name or place is that's above the names on this baptism registration. I've had trouble reducing this entry from Ancestry so it might not work. The baptism is James Glisson. Some of the others say N O'Riardan. It could be the same but looks different.

Thanks

US Lookup Requests / Re: Four Winds Mount Kisco

Thank you. I was hoping to find Mrs Welsh/Walsh's first name so that I can make the link. Looking at the passenger list again it says friend rather than aunt. So she could have worked there.

Thank you so much for this. So interesting. Looks like it hadn't been there much before my relative travelled there. It gives me something to go on.
Thanks
Rosemary
