Canada Lookup Requests Completed / Re: help required!" Are you Gran's brothers"?
« on: Sunday 04 November 07 00:08 GMT (UK)  »
Though I would give you an update. ;)
I have just received info from a researcher in Alberta Gen Society.
James keddie lived to be 91 year but never married.
John married Alice Jessie ??????? between 1911/1916 I think.
They had 2 daughters
Elsie and Madge Elizabeth
Elsie married a Donald Grant and was a school teacher in Edmonton 1950-1972 died 1994. They had 1 daughter A Ryder and 3 grandchildren (Galati) and 2 great grandchildren  Madge Elizabeth married Henry Edward Jones They had 1son and 1 daughter and  Elizabeth died 1935.
Thanks for your support and help.
still digesting this info and with surnames grant and Jones it could be another uphill struggle  ;D :D :)

Hi trying to find info on my Gran's 2 brothers
Parents are James keddie and Elspeth Alcorn
James Keddie:
Born:      26th November 1871in Mertoun, County of Berwick Scotland
Census: 1881 Kamis Farm Cottage, Minto,Roxburgh, Scotland, age 9yrs
Census: 1891Galashiels, Burgh of Galashiels, Age 19, A Lorryman
Census: 1901 Ancrum Ancrum house, North lodge,  age 29, a Gamekeepers assistant
John Keddie
Born:       12th April 1883, Kaims, Parish of Minto Roxburgh, Scotland
Census:  1891 Galashiels, Burgh of Galashiels, age 7yrs a Scholar
census :  1901 Roxburgh New Town, age 17, groom and gardener on farm

The above is posted on the roxburgh boardwith a photograph of the boys
but now I wish to establish if the:
James Keddie  Buried in Highwood Cemetery in the town of High River Alberta Canada  1870-1961
and
John Keddie buried in the same cemetery 1883-1922
are indeed mine!
I have them on the passenger list of the Lake Champlain Ship, 8th may 1906 Liverpool to Quebec.
and also, I think, on a1906 census, Alberta district, 27, which I believe is in  the High river area
What I need is to, hopfully, tie in the above, with their parents
Anyhelp will be gratefully received
