Berkshire Lookup Requests / Ford family Bucklebury, Berkshire
« on: Saturday 06 August 11 17:19 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I have an interest in
John Ford 1717-1792,
Jonathan Ford 15 Nov 1781-11 May 1865
and Jonathan Ford c1832-23 Nov 1867. ( They are father and son)
They were all born in Bucklebury.
I wondered if there were any Church Records for them.
I am a direct descendant and hope to visit the area at a future date.
Also if there is any record of John Ford's parents.
I am researching the possibility of them being Thomas Ford ( C 1695-1765) married to Elizabeth. They were born in Tilehurst and died in Bucklebury.
Any information would be greatfully received.
Regards
Margaret

Margaret's father was Peter Fell.
On the Marriage Cert it say ' gardener - deceased' . She married in1872 at St Elphin's Church, Warrington, Cheshire. Her younger sister Agnes was a witness.

Margaret appears to have been widowed by 1881 (RG11/3672 ED92 FOL101 P30), birthplace still just Scotland.

By 1891 she is at 331 Upper Parliament St, occupation stewardess. Born in GLASGOW.

Hope this is the right Margaret!

Thank you for the interest. Margaret married my great grandfather (Edward Edwards). Her maiden name was Fell. She died in 1880 sadly at an early age. I just cannot track her back before the 1871 census either in England or Scotland .... I must have misses something. Regards Margaret

Have you found Agnes on any census records

Is there any mention of her father's occupation on her marriage/death certificate?
Hello, Thanks for the link..
Their father was Peter Fell shown as 'gardener deceased' on the marriage certificate of Margaret Fell and Edward Edwards.

Hi MAS

You have another similar post on the East Lothian board here. It can confuse people if two similar posts are running on different boards (duplication of effort being one of the main problems). Which post would you prefer to keep open?

Monica  :)

Sorry... not used this site very often... will stick to this board..

Hello Margaret,
This is great.  I will send you a private message and perhaps we can then discuss things more fully. I am not a close relation at all but I did do some research on this linked family a couple of years ago and it will be good to be able to confirm my research.  Some of which you have done already.
Yours
Vicwinann

Many thanks... will be in touch.

Thanks for the interest.. I posted on different parts of the site as the family lived in different parts of the country. I have tried Scottish people many times with no luck.. also am a member of Ancestry.com and no luck there.. I just wondered if anyone else was interested in the family. Agnes had a family as well as Margaret.. just a thought.... again... thanks for the interest... one day I will find the link..
Regards
Margaret
