When I was talking to his Josephs grandson last night, he mentioned that his grandpa Brown was from Dalry and that it was he who built Sceneryhill cottage at the top side of Rankinston. So, I decided to look into it for him. Josephs wife was an Ingram, and the Ingram name is still used in the family as a middle name.

Joseph was my great great great grandfather. Some of his family are still in Rankinston. I've just came home from talking to his grandson who is now in his mid 90s.
