Is this Florence in 1887 - naming her son after her father Alfred Amhurst Owen?

hi

Having read the other thread...
Have you considered that you may already have the correct birth certificate...malcolm and mallen could both be shortened to 'Mal' or could be misheard and assumed to be malcolm.
What about obtaining the marriage cert of Gladys M Truelove [Swansea 1950] to see her fathers name.
Have you traced Isabella Hodgson in 1921 and beyond?

I think Martha was nee Sykes
Marriage: Joseph Nall to Martha Sykes Dewsbury Vol 22 Page 7 in June 1848

1861 Census has her father Thomas Sykes as a visitor with the family.

The head of household (from 1901 census) Alfred Thompson dies in 1919 - there is an obit in the Western Mail on 20 September 1919 which may give some details of the wider family.
[sorry I can't view the details as I don't have any subscriptions at the moment.]

Hi

A rather late reply and you may have already seen this:
https://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/warks/vol8/pp372-382

It covers the time period you are interested in and has a few references to publications at the bottom of the page. Some of these can be downloaded as pdf files so may be useful. I have had a brief look but didn't see any lists of names, but there's quite a lot of information on there.

Vague possibility: There is a marriage in June quarter 1965 between
Ranion Steen and Patricia M Furlong - in Brent 5a 727

ni = m with bad handwriting...maybe? making Ramon Steen

Sorry - I have the wrong timeframe - you're looking between 1956 and 1962(date of newspaper article.)

Hi SNG

I don't know if this is useful to you, scroll down for an a google earth view:
https://themovemarket.com/tools/propertyprices/archmore-mill-lane-reading-rg4-9hb
Archmore is either the property label TT Roofing, or the one slightly to the left.
They can also be seen on Google Street View - with a shared drive which makes it difficult to determine which is which.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the area, but I see this is in the 'Berkshire' forum - Kidmore End records also come under 'Oxfordshire'.
If you have a Find My Past sub [unfortunately I don't at the moment] you can search by address which could be useful.

Probate search:
Patty Penelope PALMER of Archmore Farm, Mill Lane, Kidmore End, Oxfordshire. D 16 Jan 1965 Probate Oxford 18 Feb 1966 to Herbert Leslie PALMER, farmer £774.
